The Rookies 2025 Annual Rankings

The Game Assembly remains a global leader in game development education

We didn’t reach the top by chance, and we’re not staying here by accident. This year’s Rookies Rankings once again placed The Game Assembly among the world’s top game development schools. Our students’ work continues to stand out at an international level, earning us a Top 10 position in Game Design & Development and recognition in four categories overall.

This year’s results don’t mark a change. It shows our consistency.
They confirm the standard our students work at every day. A standard built on collaboration, creativity, curiosity, and the drive to turn ideas into real, playable experiences.

Being Top 10 globally places us as the highest ranked game development school in Sweden, and above all game development schools in the UK — where we teach using the same model and approach as in Sweden.

Highlights from the Rankings 2025

The Rookies is one of the largest competitions for future game developers, animators, and digital artists. This year, nearly 6,600 entries from 104 countries and 486 schools were submitted.

TGA is ranked in four categories in the global listing:

  • Top 50 Creative Schools
  • Game Design & Development
  • Production Excellence – Console Games
  • Production Excellence – Mobile Games

Being recognized across multiple categories shows the range of skills our students develop, from early concept and design thinking to polished production and platform-specific game creation.

We are incredibly proud of what our students achieve year after year, and so thankful for the passion and dedication they bring to every project.

The team not only claimed the Runner-up award, but also walked away with the People’s Choice, a double recognition that speaks to both quality and community love.
