1) Who we are and what this notice covers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This notice explains how The Game Assembly (\u201cTGA\u201d, \u201cwe\u201d, \u201cus\u201d) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data for learners on Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.

Core legal framework: UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018).
Context: The Data Use and Access Act 2025 has been enacted; DfE will issue sector-specific guidance. We will update this notice when DfE\/ICO publish operative details.

The Game Assembly is registered as a data controller with the UK Information Commissioner\u2019s Office (ICO). Our registration reference is ZB903619.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2) What data we process (adults) and why<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We process the following, strictly tied to purpose limitation and data minimisation principles:

– Personal details: identifiers, contact info, nationality, learner numbers.
– Education records: enrolment, attendance, coursework, assessments, progression.
– Support & equal opportunities (special category where applicable): health\/disability, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation \u2013 only where needed for support or statutory monitoring.
– Criminal offence data (if required for placements\/safeguarding): processed under Article 10 UK GDPR + DPA 2018 Schedule 1 with an Appropriate Policy Document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3) Lawful bases (Article 6) and conditions (Articles 9 & 10)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our lawful bases include Public task, Contract, Legal obligation, Vital interests, and Consent. Special category data relies on Article 9(2)(g) (substantial public interest) or explicit consent. Criminal offence data relies on Article 10 UK GDPR with DPA 2018 Schedule 1 conditions and an Appropriate Policy Document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
