About The Game Assembly
The Game Assembly (TGA) is a specialist higher education institution based in Malmö and Stockholm, focused exclusively on educating game developers for the games industry.
Founded in 2008, TGA trains junior game developers across several professional disciplines, including programming, game art, animation, technical art, and level design. Today, approximately 10% of the Swedish games industry consists of TGA graduates, making the school an important contributor to the European games ecosystem.
Since 2017, TGA has consistently ranked among the top game development schools in the world on the annual rankings from The Rookies. This reflects the quality of our graduates and the strong industry focus embedded throughout our programmes.
In 2025, The Game Assembly opened its first UK campus in Liverpool, responding to strong demand from the UK games industry for a proven and high-quality talent pipeline. With the support of multiple UK game studio partners, the Liverpool campus welcomed its first cohort in September 2025 and continues to grow as a key hub for games education in the UK.

About the Role
The Game Assembly is seeking a Game Art Tutor to join our team in Liverpool.
In this role, you will help deliver and develop the Game Art curriculum, supporting students as they build the artistic and technical skills required to work in modern game development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering lectures, workshops, and practical art sessions
- Planning educational activities and contributing to course design
- Supervising and mentoring students during game development projects
- Supporting students through critique, portfolio feedback, and artistic guidance
- Collaborating with tutors from programming, design, and technical disciplines to support multidisciplinary game projects
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is passionate about game art and supporting the next generation of artists entering the games industry.
You may currently be working in the games industry as an environment artist, prop artist, or generalist. Previous teaching experience is welcome but not required.
- A clear and supportive communicator
- Comfortable giving constructive artistic feedback
- Curious, collaborative, and open to new ideas
- Passionate about games and visual storytelling
Essential Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience working in the games industry as an artist
- Strong knowledge of 3D modelling for games
- Experience using tools such as Photoshop, Substance Painter/Designer, Unreal Engine, or ZBrush
- Understanding of visual readability, composition, and design language
- Familiarity with both realistic and stylised art styles used in games
- Experience working within a game development team or studio environment
Desirable Experience
- Experience creating materials and shaders in Unreal Engine
- Experience with concept art or visual development
- Basic experience with rigging or animation workflows
- Experience creating training materials or tutorials
- Experience mentoring or supervising others

In this role, you will help deliver and develop the Game Programming curriculum, supporting students as they build the technical skills required to work in modern game development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering lectures, workshops, and practical programming sessions
- Planning educational activities and contributing to course design
- Supervising and mentoring students during game development projects
- Supporting students through technical guidance, code review, and feedback
- Collaborating with tutors across disciplines to support multidisciplinary game projects
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is passionate about game programming and supporting the next generation of developers. You may currently be working in the games industry or have previous experience as a gameplay, engine, or systems programmer.
Previous teaching experience is welcome but not required. We provide support and work collaboratively as a team to develop effective teaching practices.

About the Role
The Game Assembly is seeking a Level Design Tutor to join our team in Liverpool.
In this role, you will play a key part in developing and delivering the Level Design curriculum, helping to shape the skills and mindset of future game developers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering lectures, workshops, and practical teaching sessions
- Preparing course materials and assessments
- Supervising and mentoring students during game development projects
- Supporting students through feedback, critique, and professional guidance
- Collaborating with tutors from other disciplines to support multidisciplinary game projects
A core part of The Game Assembly’s educational approach is project-based learning. Students work in multidisciplinary teams to develop multiple playable games during the programme, simulating real studio production environments.
Projects are developed using Unity, Unreal Engine, our proprietary engine (TGE), and engines created by the students themselves.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about level design, game development, and supporting the next generation of developers.
You may currently be working in the games industry or have previous professional experience in level design. What matters most is your enthusiasm for sharing your knowledge and helping others grow.
Previous teaching experience is welcome but not required.

- The ability to analyse player experiences and provide clear, constructive design feedback
Desirable Experience
- Experience using 3D modelling tools to support level creation
- Experience creating training materials, tutorials, or documentation
- Familiarity with Agile development methods or production pipelines used in game studios
