\n\tFive games created by students at The Game Assembly have been nominated for the Swedish Game Awards: New Talent 2026. The games are competing in the categories Best Technology, Best Audio and Best Design.\r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

We are incredibly proud to announce that five games created by students at The Game Assembly have been nominated for the Swedish Game Awards: New Talent 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Swedish Game Awards celebrate creativity, innovation and technical excellence in Swedish game development. The New Talent categories highlight games created by the next generation of game developers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TGA games have received five nominations across three categories. In both Best Technology and Best Audio, games from TGA account for two of the four nominees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Technology<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

PEAX by Behemoth<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n

PEAX is a fast-paced snowboarding game where players compete against some of the world\u2019s best snowboarders. Grind, perform tricks and boost your way down the slopes as you compete for the grand prize and the title of world champion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milk of Tomorrow by Ashleep Studios<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n

Buying milk should be simple. In Milk of Tomorrow, however, the player becomes trapped in a deadly time loop, guided by a sarcastic narrator whose commentary evolves with every death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set in a city inspired by 1980s Stockholm, the game combines handcrafted pixel-art textures with 3D environments. Each attempt reveals new secrets, dialogue and clues that bring the player closer to solving the mystery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maruk: Shipwrecked by Behemoth<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n

Maruk: Shipwrecked is a light-hearted 3D platformer where players travel across an archipelago with the ghost captain Greedy McNeedy by their side. Using the captain\u2019s spectral eyes, players can peer into the spirit realm, overcome obstacles and try to find their way home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bony Tony: The Revenge by Concrete Productions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n

In Bony Tony: The Revenge, mob boss Al Cabone has tried to have the main character killed. With his feet set in cement and only a shotgun and revolver at his disposal, the player must fight their way through a casino filled with skeletons to get revenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game is a 2.5D platformer focused on mid-air combinations, precision and unusual movement mechanics. It was created as an eight-week student project at The Game Assembly in Stockholm in collaboration with Audio Production Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Merle: The Kinda Incompetent Wizard by DeadMatch<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n

Merle: The Kinda Incompetent Wizard is an atmospheric 3D platformer where players take on the role of a wizard who has lost their powers. Across three visually distinct levels, Merle must solve puzzles, avoid animated suits of armour and regain their magic to free the tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game was created by 18 students at The Game Assembly in Malm\u00f6 during a 15-week game project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swedish Game Awards: New Talent 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The nominated games will be featured at the Swedish Game Awards: New Talent Showcase at Game Town in Stockholm on 10 September. The event is open to friends, family and curious gamers who want to playtest the nominated games and meet the teams behind them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winners will be announced at the award ceremony at Bio Skandia in Stockholm on 11 September 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
